What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone starting out in HR today?
"Don't limit yourself to HR. Learn how the business creates value."
The most impactful HR professionals are not the ones who know every HR process. They are the ones who understand customers, technology, strategy, finance, and how organizations compete. Spend time with business leaders, learn how decisions are made, and develop the ability to translate business challenges into people's solutions. Be curious, stay close to the business, and never stop learning. The future of HR belongs to those who can connect people, technology, and strategy and.....understand the business.
What's the most valuable lesson you've learned in your HR career?
"Organizations don't change. People do."
Throughout my career, I have supported mergers, large-scale transformations, business turnarounds, and global reorganizations. The biggest lesson I have learned is that successful change is rarely about structures, processes, or technology. It is about helping people navigate the purpose of change, navigate uncertainty, and feel empowered to move forward. When leaders invest in trust, transparency, and meaningful dialogue, people can achieve far more than anyone initially believes possible. Change succeeds when people feel part of the journey, not victims of it. Work has HR to make people stronger and treat them with dignity.
My Advice: "Be brave enough to leave your comfort zone before someone else moves it for you." My own career has been shaped by taking opportunities across countries, cultures, industries, and roles. Growth rarely happens where you feel completely comfortable.
Lesson: "Leadership is not about having all the answers; it's about creating the conditions for others to succeed." The most successful leaders I have worked with focused less on control and more on building trust, developing talent, and enabling people to perform at their best.
